    Claudia is the Employee Development Coordinator with Henry County Water Authority in McDonough, GA.   She is responsible for performing all aspects of HR at the Authority, with primary focus on succession planning, performance management, talent development, executive coaching and wellness.

    Prior to coming to the Authority, Claudia worked for a fortune 500 company where she managed the development and delivery of worldwide SAP training, as well as the Learning Academy.  She also managed the HRIS function that directly supported the HR functions of Payroll, Benefits, HR and HR technology, and served as a strategic member of their Human Resources Steering Committee.

    Claudia received her PHR certification in 2009 and her SHRM-CP in 2015. She has been a member of Greater Henry SHRM since 2010, a member of SHRM Atlanta since 2007, and a National SHRM member since 2007. Claudia is also a member of GLGPA where she holds a CHRMP certification.

    ALPLA is one of the world’s leading companies in the packaging solutions sector.  Jackie serves as the Human Resource Manager for ALPLA, Inc. at the US Corporate Headquarters located in McDonough Georgia.  In addition to performing all aspects of HR for the Corporate Office and Technical team members , she also focuses on compensation management for the US region.   Her responsibilities include managing the performance review process and annual merit increase process.

    Prior to working for ALPLA, Inc. at the Corporate Headquarters, she worked at two US Plant locations, Jefferson City Missouri and McDonough Georgia. She has performed all plant HR functions including recruitment and retention, talent development, employee relations,   benefit and payroll management and assists in training new HR Managers in the US region.  

    Jackie earned her PHR certification in 2009 and her SHRM-CP in 2015. She has been a member of Greater Henry SHRM since 2010 and a National SHRM member since 2006.  Jackie also holds a Facilitation Certification from Development Dimensions International (DDI).

    Sharon is the Human Resources Manager for the Georgia Department of Administrative Services in Atlanta, GA.  DOAS provides enterprise level business solutions to state agencies and entities in the areas of Human Resources Administration, Risk Management Services, State Purchasing Contracts, Surplus Property and Fleet Management.  She has served in Human Resources specialist and generalist roles for over 15 years of her 30 years with the State of Georgia.

    A member of SHRM National since 2007, Sharon earned a PHR certification in 2008 and a SHRM-SCP certification in 2015.  She has been a member of Greater Henry SHRM since 2009 and a member of the South Metro Human Resources Association in Peachtree City, GA since 2016.

    Monica is the Business Development Manager at The Southern Credit Union. She is responsible for networking, generating new business opportunities, customer retention along with managing and nurturing relationships within the community through professional and civic organizations.

    The Southern Credit Union is a federally insured, non-profit, full-service financial cooperative and was established in 1963 and has operated from headquarters in Fayetteville, Georgia since 1992. They operate within a limited geographic territory and serve a core group of south side communities in the counties of Clayton, Coweta, Fayette, Henry, Troup, Fulton and Spalding. The Southern offers a complete range of banking services that well-informed consumers are seeking-but with a competitive edge for members. 

    Prior to working for The Southern Credit Union, Monica worked for the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce for six years as their event and project coordinator. For the past 15 years she has also owned a part time Balloon Decorating company called A Balloon Affair. She decorates for numerous community and corporate events.

    Monica earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts from Georgia Southern University in 1990. Her passions include spending time with her family and friends, listening to music, being outdoors and traveling to different places.

    April is the Human Resources Manager at the Berry Plastics Griffin, GA location. The Griffin location is one of the leading manufacturers of plastic film used by many popular retail grocery stores. Prior to Berry Plastics, April worked for Encompass Group in McDonough, GA as the corporate HR Manager supporting 450 employees in 11 locations.

    Prior to working for Encompass Group, April served 25 years with the Georgia Army National Guard,  serving in multiple roles in Human Resources and Operations with her last assignment as the Deputy G1 for the 11,000 plus member organization.  April retired from active duty in 2012.

    April earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from North Georgia College in 1991 and her MBA in Human Resources Management in 2013. She is currently the Greater Henry SHRM Chapter President and has volunteered in the past for the Pike County Soccer Booster Club and the Pike County Tax Assessors Office. Her passions are her children, traveling, helping other Veterans and HR professionals.

    Jesse Johnson is a retired senior human resources professional with more than 30 years of HR experience to include strategic planning, organizational effectiveness and development, workforce planning, employment laws and regulations and talent acquisition. He served as the Director of Human Resources for the State Board of Pardons and Paroles from 2007 until his retirement in 2014.

    He is a graduate of Mercer University with a Bachelor of Science degree, where he received a commission, through ROTC, as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US ARMY Medical Services Corps.  He served on active duty for 11 years including overseas assignments in Goopingen, Germany, and Ziggenburg, Germany where he commanded a Medical Company and Evacuation Hospital respectively.

    Following active military service, Johnson received a Master’s Degree in Management from the University of Arkansas.

    Before becoming a state employee, Mr. Johnson was employed by an international semiconductor and microelectronics company and conducted international business in Japan, Mexico, Malaysia, and Singapore.

    Prior to becoming the State Board of Pardons and Paroles’ Director of Human Resources in 2007, he served as the Board’s Deputy Human Resources Director from 1999 to 2006. Mr. Johnson held other state positions as Personnel Manager with the Department of Corrections, Staff Development and Training Coordinator with the Department of Human Services and Personnel Transactions Manager  with the Department of Transportation.

    Mr. Johnson is a State Personnel Administration Certified Grievance Hearing Officer and he is also a Certified Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.) Instructor.

    He previously served as an adjunct instructor at a local college providing instruction in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Introduction to Business. 

    In 2007 Mr. Johnson completed the requirements for certification by the Human Resources Certification Institute for the designation as PHR (Professional in Human Resources). Additionally, in 2007, he completed the Georgia Leadership Institute’s Executive Level Program and in 2011 graduated from the Governor’s Executive Level Development Program.

    Mr. Johnson is currently certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a SHRM-SCP Human Resources Professional.

    Since retirement he has continued his commitment to the Human Resources profession as a consultant. He also volunteers as a facilitator/instructor with the Greater Henry County SHRM chapter in the chapter’s SHRM Certification Prep Program.

    Pamela is the Human Resources Coordinator for Son’s Automotive Group privately owned by the Nalley family.   She supports 6 franchises with a team of approximately 400 associates.   The Nalley family started this business back in 1955 when they opened their own franchise in Atlanta, GA.   The job with Son’s has been very rewarding.  She has taken on new roles in her field which have included some accounting functions.  Pamela states she wasn’t originally a number’s person but it has grown on her. 

    Prior to working for Son’s Automotive Group, Pamela worked for Braman Motorcars, South Florida’s #1 Luxury Car Dealer, as their Human Resources Manager for 8 years.   Her role at Braman encompassed a variety of Human Resources functions for 7 franchises with 400 associates. 

    Pamela received her PHR certification in 2004 and her SHRM-CP in December 2015.  She is a member of National SHRM since 2003 and a member of Greater Henry SHRM since January 2016 when she relocated to Georgia from Florida where she had been living for 21 years.  Originally from New York (Long Island).   Now living in McDonough, GA with her husband Eric and cat Pumpkin who made the 9 1/2 hour drive from Florida at 17 years old pretty darn well.

    Kim is a licensed and certified counselor who provides professional career counseling to Mercer University students and alumni. She has been a member of the Mercer Career Services Office since 2006 and has been working at Mercer since 1996. She graduated from Mercer with a bachelor’s degree in Service Learning and a master’s degree in Community Counseling. Kim became nationally certified in 2009 and licensed by the State of Georgia in 2010.

    Kim’s specialty is helping adults in career transition explore and discover their next career step and helping them align that step with their personality, values, skills and interests.  Kim is passionate about helping people find and live gratifying careers where they can achieve the productivity and purpose they crave, while suiting who they are.

    During the process of career counseling, Kim educates clients about how to enhance or rebuild their resume and networking skills to meet the competitive nature of today’s job market.

    Currently, Kim is serving in her third year as the College Relations CLA for the Greater Henry County SHRM Chapter in McDonough, GA. (2010-2012)

    In addition, Kim is currently serving on the 2012 Board of Directors for the Georgia Career Development Association and the Georgia Careers Consortium.  She is a current member of the National Career Development Association (NCDA), the American Counseling Association (ACA), the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia (LPCAGa), and the Georgia Association of Colleges and Employers (GACE).

    With over 20 years of management experience, Tonya has served within higher education since 2006. She currently serves as the Career Services Director, Non-Traditional Student Coordinator/Advisor, Professional Academic Advisor within the Student Success Center, Student Ambassafor Leader Advisor and the advisor for the recently established GSC Toastmasters International Club of which she chartered. Tonya also serves as anadjunct professor within the Business and Public Service Department at Gordon State College. She currently serves as the State College Director for the USC-CACE Board for the University System of Georgia, RAC-Community Engagement & Service, Past-President of the Georgia Career Consortium and President-Elect for the Georgia Association of Colleges and Employers.

    Tonya has received her CAEL Certification in Academic and Career Counseling and was selected for the 2015 Leadership Lamar Class in Barnesville, GA. She also received the 2016 Georgia Association of Colleges and Employers Research Scholarship Award. As a 2016-2017 Board Member of the Tubman Museum, she is very involved in the development of womenand her local community.

    A Michigan native, she earned her Bachelor's Degree from Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN, her Master's Degree in Business Management from Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY, and her Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, GA. She is currently in the process of completing her Doctoral Degree from The University of Southern Mississippi in Human Capital Development.

    Kedon is the Director of Human Resources and Community Relations with Southern States, LLC in Hampton, GA.  As a member of the CEO’s senior management staff, Kedon leads a team of HR professionals and has total responsibility for the corporate and plant-level Human Resources functions at their corporate headquarters and manufacturing operations.  Her key responsibilities include talent acquisition and development, regulatory compliance, benefits design and administration, employee and labor relations, compensation, AAP management, and community relations.

    Prior to joining Southern States LLC, Kedon worked at Avery Dennison for 15 years where she held various roles in various locations including Summer HR Intern (Ohio), Human Resources Leadership Development Program Associate (Massachusetts, Ohio, and California), HR Manager (Georgia and California), Regional HR Manager (California, with added responsibilities for  a location in Washington), and HR Director for Office Products North America (California, with added responsibilities for locations in Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Mexico).  With each of these roles, Kedon acted as a strategic HR business partner providing overall HR support at all levels of the organization.  Her key responsibilities included developing, implementing, and driving the HR strategy and systems/processes to deliver business objectives which included staffing/recruiting, employee relations, training and development, compensation and benefits, and organizational development.

    Kedon earned her BA in Economics from Spelman College in 1996 and her MBA from the University of Arizona in 1999.  Kedon has been a member of Greater Henry SHRM since 2015 and National SHRM member since 1998.  Kedon is also a member of the South Metro Human Resources Association, a Henry County Chamber of Commerce Board Member, and member of the National Black MBA Association.

    Lee has been in the staffing and recruiting industry for over 25 years. MAU Workforce Solutions serves industry by assisting in recruiting both hourly and professional employees. Lee is very active with his clients. He regularly interfaces with executives and managers in strategic planning for manpower, training and other workforce solutions.

    Lee has a BS degree in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech. He is presently serving on the Executive Board of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, and is the Chairman of the Newnan Peachtree City Area Employer Committee. He has also served in leadership roles with the Georgia Staffing Association and the American Staffing Association. Lee has successfully completed course work at the Dale Carnegie Institute and has been certified to lead the OSHA General Industry Outreach Program. He lives in Brooks and has been married to Cheryl for 30 years. Lee’s daughter, Kara, is a senior at Kennesaw State University and his son, Sam, is a freshman at Kennesaw.

    Arnesha is a Senior Human Resources Coordinator at Southern States, LLC, in Hampton, GA. In her role, she partners with the HR team to provide customer service to employees in the areas of recruitment, on-boarding, employee relations, performance management and training and development. Prior to Southern States, Arnesha has 6 years of experience in retail-pharmacy management with Walgreens. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Albany State University in Business Marketing and her Master’s degree in Business Administration and Human Resource Management from Brenau University. In 2016, she earned her certification as an Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR) and serves as a member of SHRM-National and the National Association of African-Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR).

    Melissa is the Human Resources Manager with Southern States, LLC in Hampton, GA. Southern States, the largest switch manufacturer in North America and a rapidly growing player in the SF6 products field.  Melissa’s primary functions are to 1) manage and provide human resources/employee relations services and support for approximately 300 hourly employees and their supervisors in a heavy manufacturing environment, and 2) provide services and support for corporate HR functions.

    Melissa has extensive broad-based generalist experience in manufacturing, production, distribution and administrative environments.  She has served as a strategic business partner and advisor throughout her career in human resources, assisting management teams on human resource issues to include employee relations, coaching, recruitment and retention, performance management, benefits and compensation and HR records management.

    Melissa earned her BS in Human Resources from Georgia State University in 1995.  Melissa received her PHR certification in 2011.   Melissa has been a member of Greater Henry SHRM since 2010 and National SHRM member since 1999.  Melissa is also a member of South Metro Human Resources in Peachtree City, GA since 2002.

    As the Owner of People Plus Solutions, I have over two decades of experience within the staffing industry. Since 1996, I have been helping Great Companies find Great People, and Great People find Amazing Jobs. I love what I do. To help people find that perfect career opportunity, and companies find the right fit for their organization is a humbling experience.
     

    During my tenure in staffing, I have managed multiple territories, with revenue up to 28 million annually. I have worked with companies ranging in size from 5-500+, and have been instrumental in selling, implementing, and managing various on-site partnerships.

    In March 2016, I opened a small, local employment agency that currently services Henry County and the surrounding areas. I specialize in highly skilled permanent and contract job opportunities.

    Prior to entering the staffing industry, I graduated with a B.S. in Psychology from Georgia State University. I also served 3 years Active Duty in the United States Army, and did most of my tour overseas.

    After working in Payroll and Human Resources support positions at Clayton County Schools, Mandy returned to college with a desire to advance in the HR field. She began attending Henry County SHRM meetings during her second year in school and has been a member, on and off, for ten years.

    In 2014, Mandy graduated from Clayton State University with a Bachelors of Applied Science in Organizational Leadership - Human Resources, Magna cum Laude, and earned the SHRM-CP the following year. Since then she has worked as a HR Generalist and Office Manager. Currently, she recruits Medical, Dental and Administrative professionals for Southern Crescent Personnel.

    Mandy grew up in Clayton County and graduated from Morrow High School. She has three children and two grandchildren. She enjoys theater, traveling, time with her family, and writing.

    Brittnie was born and raised in Conyers, GA. She graduated from Georgia State University in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration concentrated in Human Resources Management.

    Shortly after graduation, she began an internship at ALPLA, Inc. where she was responsible for helping the North American corporate HR department with various tasks and projects. After about seven months, ALPLA offered her a full time position as HR Specialist, where she served for almost three years. In this role, she lead and assisted in various areas across the department, including but not limited to HRIS management, reporting, performance management, training, wellness, and employee engagement. In February 2016, Brittnie successfully earned her SHRM-CP credential in order to distinguish herself and continue growing as an HR professional. In February 2018, Brittnie was promoted to the position of Human Resources Manager for the North American Corporate Headquarters office.

    In her free time, Brittnie enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their dog Pete, and her family and friends. She is also an avid CrossFitter, coffee-drinker, reader, runner, soccer fan, and Netflix-binge-watcher.
